Master crafter challenge

Bare with me please while my blog is under construction. I am having problems with my background. So so sorry. Anyways back to the challenge. I am so excited to be a part of this challenge over at pinkcricut.com. She is hosting a master crafter challenge. What is this you may ask? Well basically we had to incorporate the following items that were mailed to us in our project:
- Scissor Mouse sponsored by Westcott
-DCWV Rockstar mat stack sponsored by DCWV Deals
-Cotton Bag Sponsored by State line Bag Co.
-1/2 sheet of Rhinestones sponsored by Queen & Co.
-Sentiment stamp sponsored by Pink by Design
- 2 Assorted Buttons
realizing that one thing is a tool, and may not be used as part of the project, but used to make the project. We may use other things from our stash to make our project.

On Oct.4 we will be linking our wonderful projects up and we get to vote on the best ones. The person with the most votes will get to choose their prize from the list of prizes and then the others will be drawn randomly.

Please Remember Voting will begin at 12:01 am on the 4th as well, and will last for one week, until October 11, 2012 at 12:02 am CST.

Without further ado here is my project for the challenge

You see that guitar right there.. Yep it's paper cute huh? I made it using an SVG Cuts file called Spring Birdhouse. It was actually a birdhouse file but I did some altering in Silhouette Designer Studio edition and turned it into an awesome guitar. The paper used is from the rock star stack that was required. If you look closely I incorporated the green gem stones to look like the guitar frets. I used fishing string as the guitar strings and green brads along the bottom to hold the strings down. Using basic shapes in SDSE I created guitar picks to be housed inside the cute little bag, which I stamped with the required stamp that says play. I also decided to decorate the bag a bit by using some cute buttons and twine. I also used the EP shape tool to cut out a skull from the rock star paper and use as decoration for the bag also.

Here is better picture of what the outside of the bag looks like. Cute right?

One more pic before I go

Well I cannot believe how long this post has gotten already so I guess I should sign off now. One more thing before I go, please vote for me! I really would appreciate it. Also if you do not follow my blog please become a follower also I love to have new followers. I promise my blog layout will be prettier soon.

Halloween decor

Ok so before I start with my project I wanted to quickly talk about what I spent all morning doing. I spent all morning putting "wallpaper" in my daughters calico critters house. Yesterday she got a house for like little animals and you can go on there website and download the printable wallpaper. So I did that and got to cutting and putting atg tape on each piece. I admit it does look super cute but it is a lot of work basically for nothing since my daughter is 2 and a half so she really doesn't care if it looks cute or not. But oh we'll it was worth spending the time with her watching it all come together. Ok so enough about that on to my project.

I have been working on a lot of Halloween decor for my house. I am trying to make as much stuff as I can without buying too much. So I decided to make the apothecary jars from the toil and trouble SVG Cuts file. I made the tall and the short one.

For the tall one I used some glittery halloweeny paper with some paper metallic like paper super cute

For the short one I used some Halloween vellum like paper it doesn't look see through in pic but it is. I didn't want to put too much on the outside of this one since I wanted to show off the paper most of all.

Side view of short jar.

I am planning on making a couple more projects for my Halloween decor so be on the look out for those.

1st Halloween card of the year

So can I just say that I have been so swamped at work that its ridiculous. I'm so exhausted and not had a break to relax(craft) in a good bit. I did realize that I forgot to post my Halloween card. I used SVG cuts Fall Harvest kit for my card base and trees. As for the decorations I used a little bit from a couple of different kits. So enough describing lets get to the pics.

The cute pumpkin, the fence and the black cat are all from SVG cuts midnight jamboree kit

The cute spider hanging from the tree is from SVG cuts party on elm street kit I am unsure where I got the witches pot and potion bottle from.

The bats in the tree and the banner in the tree are also from SVG cuts party on elm street kit. The pumpkins are from the midnight jamboree kit and the graves with ghosts I think are from a Lettering Delights but I could be wrong. Sorry I cannot remember where exactly I got them from.

Well I'm off to bed now and hopefully I can wake up bright and refreshed. Remember I love to hear your thoughts on all of my projects so please let me know what your thoughts are.

Cherry blossom tree card

I love the free Kyoto Kuties file from lettering delights. I prob have used this file over a hundred times. Its so super cute. I also used the fall tree card file from SVG cuts Fall Harvest kit for the base of my card.

This card was really hard to photograph because it's just so big and awkward to me.

Here is the second flap of my card I used the tree from the original file but I used the cherry blossoms from the free SVG cuts files.

Here is the final flap which is my fav one. This is the tree from lettering delights free file. I modified the tree to make it fit on the card. I also adding a little hummingbird at the top.

Well that's all for today I hope that you enjoyed my card as much as I enjoyed making it. I don't think I will be giving this one away to just anybody. I have to make sure its a special person. ;)

Fall

I made it! We got through the worst of the hurricane today so I was able to craft some. What else was I going to do cannot go out anywhere. So I got to crafting hoping that our power would not go out in the middle of one of my projects. I worked on a couple of projects since I will be flying out of the country on Saturday for work. I figured I would make enough to Be able to post while I am gone.
For today's post I couldn't decide what I wanted to show first so I figured I would show a fall project to you all
I used the Fall Harvest file from SVG cuts for both of my projects. I figured I would start off slow and not complicated at all just in case the power went out. So I stuck to the original file and started cutting.

I love the way the papers match the theme. I plan on displaying these in my living room during the fall. They are super cute files. You gotta love SVG Cuts.

I wood embossed the basket to give it a more real look but the only problem is that it makes the paper really weak so be careful when you do this.

I tried to use some of the same papers for my Indian Corn since I plan on displaying them in my house I didn't want a whole variety of colors.
Hope you likey. Come back to check out more of my projects soon.

Update

I am so sorry that I have not been able to post things like I would have liked to do, I just have been super busy at work with an audit that when I get home all I want to do is rest. My plans were to start posting again this week, well guess what? Hurricane Issac messed up those plans. Instead of relaxing and crafting I'm watching the news for the updates of the hurricane. I leave right outside of new Orleans and the way things are going it is suppose to hit sometime this afternoon. I will try to post updates if we do not lose power.

Gable Gift Boxes

Ok so I believe this is the last project for the Mario party that I used an SVG Cuts file for.  So sad I know. Without them though I wouldn't have been able to do all the projects I wanted to do. So thanks so much SVG Cuts.  Ok back to my project. I LOVE these, they came out amazing I think.  I saw some online to purchase( this is where the idea came from) so I remembered that SVG Cuts released Classic Gift Boxes kit with a box similar to the one they were selling premade online.

So my brain started thinking hmm... how can I make one like that? So using the gable box from the kit I took it and shrank it down a bit and found some mario pictures and one thing lead to another until I got the final project below.

Side 1

Side 2

As far as sides 3 and 4 I did decorate them but only on 1 box. I decided that doing all 20 would be too much since I decided to create these the night before the party. I will show you how it was suppose to be, but they still turned out cute even though I wasn't able to put them on there.

So do you want to see them all together? I got a picture of some of them set up at the party.

Thats it for today, I will be back with pictures of the whole party set up. So look for that post soon.

Star boxes

I'm so sorry that I am just now posting these. I have been super busy with work and finishing up all the goodies for the super Mario party. I am almost done. The party is Sunday so I better be almost done. I have a couple more things to finish up, that I am hoping to finish tomorrow.

Back to my project though. So today I am going to show you all these adorable star shaped boxes I made as table decorations for the party. I got the file from SVG Cuts stars and stripes kit. I just altered the file a bit so that the ovals were cut out to make the eyes of my star.

I think these are so cute. I can't believe how much they look like the stars from super Mario. What do you think?

Here is a sneak peak at these cute stars in action at the birthday party.  Yeah thats right I said sneak peak. I plan on doing a post with all my projects all together in action at the birthday party but first I want to show each piece a post at a time. That way they each get there little bit of spotlight.

See my cute invite in the front we had a couple extras so we decided to use them as decorations.

Well I hope to be back tomorrow with more projects from the party. See you soon.

Super Mario invites

So I have been working frantically to get everything ready for a close friends boys birthday party. She told me that her boys wanted to have a super Mario brothers party and that's all it took for my brain to start cranking out ideas. Ideas just kept coming And now I have committed myself to a whole bunch of projects. I don't mind at all because I am having way too much fun making everything. I just can't wait to see everything done and put together.
First I want to show where everything started from. The invites! I'm so excited to show these I worked really hard and they came out awesome.
TA-DA!!!

What do you all think? Cute right? I took the dice file from the Green Room kit from SVG Cuts and altered the file a bit so that I could make the question marks for every side and also the slit on the top of the cube for the invite to go in. As for the mushroom I found an image online and then using Make the Cut I converted it to a cuttable file and I paper pierced the mushroom together. I even made a back for him to.

Here you can see me working on attaching the mushrooms To the invites. (Psst. See that cute star in the background? Look for my post about that, one day this week.)

Here are the invites with the mushrooms attached.

See I was not lying about the backs. Here are the back of my cute little mushrooms.

Finally here they are folded and ready to be inserted into there cute cube.
I really hope you enjoyed my Super Mario cube invites because I really enjoyed making them. Please check back soon because I will be posting more projects that I am working on for the party.

Asian inspired birthday card

I believe I created my all time favorite card the other day. I so did not want to get rid of this one but I created for my little cousins 15th birthday so I did end up giving it up. I made sure she did not throw it away because if she was going to I was going to ask for it back. Is that bad? Any who without further ado drum roll please.....

What do yall think? Beautiful right? The papers are my fav. I believe they collection is by Recollections and it's called cherry blossom. The card shape is from SVG Cuts Breezy Backyard Lever Cards the pinwheel one. the cherry blossom tree in the background is also from SVG cuts it is from there free files. I love those free files. The little Kokeshi file is from the silhouette online store

Here is the card opened up. Again notice those beautiful papers. I get so excited just looking at them. I'm weird I know.

I also made a matching envelope to go with my card.

This is the back side of the envelope

This is the front side of the envelope.

Oh Christmas tree

I finally got around to asking the Christmas tree card from the new SVG Cuts kit. It is so cute of a card that I'm really thinking about putting it out as decoration instead of giving it to someone for Christmas. Shhh.. Just don't tell anyone. ;)

I used the jolly holiday paper from recollections again for everything on this card. I also used stickles, glossy accents and I embossed the green present with my cuttlebug.

Christmas in July

I'm really not the one to make cards for holidays when the holiday is not even close but when I saw the new kit from SVG Cuts I just had to work on a quick card. And hey I'm already have one Christmas card ready to go. Yah me!

All the paper I used came from the Recollections jolly Holliday paper pack. The papers in there are just to too cute. I'm really excited to use some more of the papers for other projects besides Christmas cards. I also used some stickles for the snowflakes and some cute little jewels for the centers and as accents.

Well I'm out for now I will be back tomorrow and the next day and the next day... With some more projects that I have been working on.

4th of July

Happy 4th of July everyone

Just thought that I would share a quick layout that I created for my daughters scrapbook. I used a template from SVG Cuts Stars and Strips kit for my base and then for added details I used another kit called Made in the USA.

Well how about I stop rambling and show you the pics

I didn't have my daughters pictures in the layout since I plan on taking some tomorrow to add to this layout so I just out some cute paper in its place.

Wanted to show you those cute little jewels that I added to the bottom of her skirt her shirt and his shirt.

I also added some bling using stickles to the firecracker. Along with sowm cute star stickers

I added a cute flower that I made using some cute papers and a button. I believe the file for this flower is from the made in the USA kit. Finally I added some glitter to my tag on the top along with the same stars that I used on the firecracker.

That's it. I hope that I didn't bore you all too much. Thanks for stopping by my page.

Summer summer summer time

Since where I live it's like 95 degrees but feels like 110. I figured I would create a summer themed card.
I decided to make an easel card complete with sand, water and clouds. I used all Lettering Delights cuts for this whole card. I had to modify some things to my little kids. I could not find any floatie SVG files so I created some arm floaties for my boy using rectangles and a half circle for my little girl. I also used a peachy keen face for the little girl. I always think that this adds a prettier touch. I paper pierced the little girl, castle, stars, sun and sea shells and print and cut the little boy, sand bucket, and ball.

As for my sand I just ripped some Kraft paper and layered it to make it look like sand. Well I hope you enjoyed my summery card as much as I enjoyed I enjoyed it making me want to go to the beach.

Sandcastle card

Hello everyone

I know I have been m.i.a for about week but I couldn't craft. First my blade went out on my cameo, so I had to wait for it to ship to me. Then I had to work on some birthday invitations for a friend. Those took a good bit of time so I couldn't work on all the SVG Cuts projects I had been wanting to work on :(. Oh well that has past now and I have a project for you today.

I created a sandcastle like card from the Summer Street Carnival file from SVG Cuts. I altered the file a bit so instead of it looking like a fun house I made it look like a sandcastle.

As far as the details go I use another file from SVG Cuts called Wet N Wild .
I wish I could put more pictures up but my husband took our camera with him and I had to take this picture with my iPad.

Please come back tomorrow for another project.

Quick post

Well it was a perfect evening for crafting. So I thought. My daughter fell asleep super early tonight since she started swimming lessons she has been really sleepy. I thought well that's a great thing now I can work on crafty all night long. WRONG! Boy was I. Went into my crafting room sat down and got ready to start cutting on my silhouette and guess what???

My blade finally went out. Like seriously out. It would just act like it was cutting but it would not cut anything. I tried everything to fix it but eventually I gave up. I gave up only because first I started thinking I had not changed the blade since I got it and that was back in December. I use it almost everyday so I wore that poor blade out. Second, maybe it was a sign that I need to just give it a break and relax for the evening since I have been sick. So that's what I did. I put it all down and took a break.

With this being said I won't be able to post any awesome projects until I go to Michaels and buy a new blade or order one online have not decide how long I can go without crafting. Knowing myself I won't be able to even last past tomorrow.

Just thought I would update everyone in case you all were wondering why I had not posted anything this week. Hope to post something soon though so please come back and visit me

Fathers day tool box

I have been working on this project for about 2 weeks now off and on. I had started it before going to my work retreat and then I had to leave for a week and I wasn't able to actually finish it until today. I'm so excited to share it with everyone. So here goes

Well what do you think does it look like a tool box to you? I worked so hard to get it just right. For the actual box I used an SVG file from SVG Cuts called Ryan's play date. I altered the file a bit in Make the Cut so I could put drawers in the front.

Here is a top view of the box. The tag and the tool came from another SVG Cuts file called My Day with Dad.

Here it is once you open it. I tried making it look like the actual inside of a tool box. You know the part at the top that comes out. Yep you can lift this one up too

This is the first drawer. I used the curio shelf from Attic Treasures for this drawer and the tools are from Cliff's Clubhouse Cards

Here is a picture of the second shelf. Again I used the same curio shelf I just altered the file so that there were no compartments. The tools came from the same place also. I decided that this was a good spot to insert the gift card.
We are almost done just 3 more pictures I promise.

My husband actually gave me the idea for this. I thought that it looked a bit plan on the outside so I decided to jazz it up a bit. He said well why don't you get some stickers like the ones that people put on there actual toolboxes. So I went with his idea. I think it turned out cute and gave it that little extra thing it needed. What do you think?

Well that's it for me today. I hope that you all enjoyed my project as much as I enjoyed making it. Please leave comments and questions I always love hearing from everyone.

Happy memorial day

Hello all my crafty friends
I am very excited today since this is my first post as a special guest designer over at Exploring Cricut . I had complete full range on what I wanted to do on this project which is awesome by the way, So I thought. I couldn't decide on what I wanted to. I kept thinking of projects and then saying,"no that's not what I want to do". Then it finally hit me, I thought well this post is going to go live on Memorial Day so lets do a memorial day themed project. And so I did exactly that. I hope you enjoy and I went a little photo crazy so bare with me.

First is the picture of my whole project. It is a little hard to see details because I had to back up some to get everything in the picture. Don't worry though I have plenty of close up pictures.

I will start with the easiest, the rosettes. The little ones you see hanging in the middle those were created using the ribbons and rosettes cricut cartridge. The big ones you see I created using an SVG file from SVG Cuts called Made in the USA.

Next we will talk about the cupcakes. For the pics I used plantin schoolbook cricut cartridge. I just used a circle and a star and cut them out. For the cupcake wrappers again I used the Made in the USA kit. Now for the cute little stand you see those cupcake on I used another SVG file from SVG Cuts called Popular Street Tulips. I love the files over at SVG Cuts they are super simple to put together and super cute.

Last but not least the Uncle Sam like hat. I used the Made in the USA file agin for this hat but I just made it bigger then it comes on the file. I wanted it to be more of a center piece. I cut it out with decorative paper and also I decorated each side with something memorial dayie.

The star is from Plantin Schoolbook and I just scored it so it would look 3D.

The cute little kid silhouette and that adorable flower you see both came from the Made in the USA kit.

The little rosette came from the ribbons and rosettes cartridge. I actually was going to hang it but I ran out of room to hang it so I decided to attach it to the hat instead.

The little menu and food name stands I found online on a website but I cannot remember where and I thought I saved the link but I guess I didn't I do apologize for that.
Well I hope you have enjoyed my memorial day mini party. Please Don't forget to comment I love to read your comments. If you are not a follower also please follow me I would love to have more followers.
