Giraffe invitations

Ok so I have been working away on creating some custom invitations and a banner (which I will show on another post) for some friends. They are having there daughters birthday at the zoo and her favorite animal is the giraffe. I wanted to create something cute and unique so I thought about create secret pop up invitations. I researched a couple YouTube videos on how to create them and this is what I came up with.

This is what the card looks like when it slides and pops up.

This is what the card loos like closed
I forgot to take a picture of the back of the card which is embossed with the happy birthday folder. I am very happy with the way they turned out and my friends love them too.

One last thing I plan on making either a video or putting up instructions on how to make this type of card if anyone is interested. It took me a bit to find a good tutorial on these so I figured I would create one.

I am linking this project over at you had me at craft on her made it myself Monday's post.

Throwback Thursday challenge

I'm back at it again. I decided that I would make a different type of card for the challenge over at my creative time the challenge is to create a project using Doodlecharms cartridge and the color blue. So I thought and I thought all last night of what I would do to make my card different then the ones that have already been submitted. This is what I came up with...

I made an invitation to a beach party that you can turn the wheel at the bottom to get the info for the part-ay.

I went a little doodling crazy on this card also but I really like the way it came out though. I ran the sand castle through my cuttlebug to give a more of a sandy effect. I had the perfect paper for my palm trees the only problem is I do not remember where I got it from sorry. I also used purple stickles for the flag and for the sea horse. Peachy keen stamps were used for the suns face. I hope that you all enjoy my card as much as I enjoyed making it.

Stinkin cute

So I was blog surfing the other day and found a tutorial Hereon how to make a card that holds an antibacterial bottle the little mini ones. I thought it was the cutest thing to give someone so I decided to make one. I love how easy and fun they are to make I cannot wait to make more. So be on the look out for more to come.

I cut the skunk out from create a critter I used pastel pink and purple card stock for him. The purple card stock was pastel but I ran it through my sticker maker so I could flock it, after flocking it became more of a darker purple. I also embossed the background card stock with the traffic jam folder. The actual card base is just red paper studio card stock. As far as the skunks face goes I used peachy keens animal faces to stamp it.

Challenge me Monday #56

This will be my last Easter card,so sad I know. I have a lot of Easter baskets and such to put together this week so I don't have much time to do cards. Moving on... I really hope that every one enjoys this card it is a cute one.

I have been using Sure Cuts A lot 2 software recently so I decided to make a card with a file I got from the lettering delights page. The bunny, chick, and eggs all come from the Easter beasties SVG file. I decided to make a joy fold card for this project because I had a lot of things that I wanted to incorporate into it.

I plan on entering this card over at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge the challenge this week is to use a bunny or chick cut in a card. I think I have both of those pretty covered.

Here the card is closed. Don't you just love that eaten bunny.lol. For the egg I used stickles and glossy accents to give it that extra boing I also used my irock to put those little diamonds on the corners

Here is my card opened. Again I used stickles and glossy accents for both the eggs

Finally here is the other flap of the card with my cute little chick and flowers.

Chocolate Bunny

I am back with another Easter card which I had a lot of fun making and I am super excited to share with everyone. Every time I go to Walmart around Easter time I always see these huge chocolate bunnies that are covered in gold foil in a box. I always thought who can possibly eat all that chocolate?(I did not know they were hollow until my husband told me) anyways they always catch my attention, so I decided that I would make a card in there honor. Let me know what you all think about. I really love how it turned out.

For the bunny I used gypsy wandering cartridge cut at 2.50 (in order to make the bunny look like an actual chocolate bunny I had to cut the bunny out 8 times and glue them all together to get it to look thick.)
I recently purchased the cutest paper stack from hobby lobby it's called Sweet Treats from DCWV and that is where the brown and flower like paper came from the green paper is just from a pastel pack I purchased at Walmart.
The ribbon I also purchased at hobby lobby in the easter section
As far as the saying inside the scalloped circle( medium punch the paper studio) I just typed it up on my computer and then printed it and punch it.
Last but not least and my favorite part is the gold wrapper around my chocolate bunny. Well to make a long story short I was messing around with some mod podge today and it suddenly hit me. I got some aluminum foil cut it to the length I needed it then I covered it with mod podge and while it was still wet I sprinkled martha Stewart gold glitter all on it. At first I was worried that it wouldn't stick well enough when I was wrapping it around my bunny but it held up really well actually. I will try to make a quick video demonstrating this when I get back on Friday from a work trip. In case anybody wants to see how to do it.

This is the inside of my card again I used DCWV paper from the sweet treats stack I like the fact that it fits with my chocolate theme. The paper has the words chocolate all over it. Not sure where I got the stamp from.

I even made a matching envelope to go with my card. Here is my chocolate bunny out of his beautiful foil. Doesn't he just look yummy?

Inside liner of envelope even matches

Envelope and card.

CCCC#10 and Challenge Me Monday #52

The CCCC#10 challenge involves using doodle charms cartridge and for the Challenge Me Mondaychallenge involves making a birthday card. I decided to combine the two challenges and make one card that fits both. I made a pop up birthday card. I used doodle charms cartridge to make the party hat and the candies. The rest came from the hello kitty cartridge. As far as the card shape goes I took two shape one from plantin school book and one from lacy labels and welded it together to get the card shape. If anyone has any question or would like more information on how I made this card feel free to leave me a comment. I hope everyone enjoys.

The happy birthday and the hello kitty actually pop up when you open the card the party hat is attached with pop dots and the candies are also. The card in the middle is a little spot to write a note.
